The Department of Education (DepEd) in Central Visayas announced that at least 50 schools are now ready for in-person classes.
DepEd regional director Salustiano Jimenez said that the region has approved atleast 50 schools for the in-person classes after meeting the minimum requirements for face-to-face classes such as classroom design, availability of health protocol, as well as recommendations from the Department of Health, local governments, school divisions, and parent-teachers association.
He also added that although there is no timeline yet, it will be up to the DepEd central office and President Rodrigo R. Duterte to approve the recommendation.
The 50 recommended schools include six in Bohol, nine in Siquijor, 13 in Negros Oriental, and 22 from Cebu provinces
“We’re also doing this so that the schools can count how many classrooms, supplies and teachers are needed,” Jimenez said.
