Iginiit ng Department of Education na hindi na maaaring taasan ang Php 300.00 na monthly communication allowance ng mga personnel ng DepEd matapos itong hilingin ng ilang mga guro.
Ayon sa DepEd, kulang sa pondo at wala umanong sapat na legal basis upang taasan ang communication allowance ng mga guro. Aminado naman ang DepEd na hindi sapat ang Php 300.00 na communication allowance para sa mga gurong nasa ilalim ng alternative working arrangement bilang tugon sa COVID 19 pandemic.

“In as much as the Department would want to reimburse their communication expenses for a higher amount, the Department has its limitations, both in the funding cover and legal basis. The amount of P300 per month was identified based on the cost estimates per available 2020 funds .” ani ng DepEd.
Wala pa umanong sagot ang Department of Budget and Management sa inquiry ng DepEd ukol dito.
Sa DepEd Order No. 38 na na-issue noong Nobyembre, ang bawat personnel ng DepEd ay maaaring magpa-reimburse ng Php 300.00 kada buwan simula Marso hanggang Diyembre ng nakaraang taon.
