President Marcos Pledge to Enhance Teachers’ Lives

President Marcos has reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the concerns within the country’s education system. He expressed his dedication to improving the lives of educators during the third Konsyerto sa Palasyo event held at Malacañang on October 1, 2023.

In a Facebook post made on Monday, October 2, President Marcos conveyed his gratitude to teachers for their unwavering dedication and pledged to enhance their working conditions. He stated, “As we thank you for all that you do, we also remain focused on making your lives better.”

Furthermore, he emphasized the ongoing efforts of the Marcos-Duterte administration to address the needs of schools, teachers, and students, underscoring their commitment to the education sector.

The event featured a lineup of powerhouse vocalists and performers who took the stage to serenade the teachers, as a heartfelt tribute during Teachers’ Month.

Teachers’ Month, running from September 5 to October 5, was established by Proclamation No. 242 during the presidency of the late former President Benigno Aquino III in 2011. Its aim is to raise awareness and garner support for World Teachers’ Day, celebrated annually on October 5.

The third Konsyerto sa Palasyo occurred nearly two months following the second concert dedicated to Filipino athletes on August 6. Earlier in April, President Marcos hosted the “Konsyerto sa Palasyo: Awit ng Magiting” for the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and their families.
