Public School Teacher Murdered in Surigao City; Suspect in Custody

In a shocking incident on Thursday, a public school teacher was brutally stabbed to death.

The deceased was identified as Clarence May Sulima, an educator at the Surigao City Elementary School. The suspect, Joseph Guimarie, promptly turned himself in to local barangay officials shortly after the incident.

Upon surrendering, Guimarie admitted to using a kitchen knife in the fatal assault on Sulima. The police also recovered several personal items belonging to the victim, including identification cards and a passbook, from Guimarie’s possession.



While the suspect is currently in custody, the exact reason behind the gruesome act remains unclear. Investigators are diligently working to uncover the motive behind the killing.
