DepEd warns against donation scam

The Department of Education warns the public, after it received a report, against certain groups who are using the agency and its officials to collect financial donations.

According to DepEd, a certain group used the agency’s name and officials for donations to the extent of mimicking the voice of the DepEd Secretary, Leonor M. Briones.

“We would like to reiterate to the public that the Department has not authorized any individual or group to conduct such activity especially in the name of the Secretary,” said DepEd in a statement last Saturday.

The department is currently seeking help for further investigation regarding this matter.

Meanwhile, the department is also exerting efforts to look into the sale of lewd photos by students to buy gadgets for online learning.
