  • by

The Department of Education (DepEd) encouraged high school science and mathematics teachers to apply for a government scholarship grant through the Part-Time Scholarship for Science and Mathematics Teachers of the Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI).

In DepEd Memorandum No. 15, s. 2021, the program is open to High School Science and Mathematics (S&M) teachers who are currently employed with less than 7 years teaching experience. If qualified, he/she shall have  Php 20,000.00 tuition grant per semester and Php 60,000.00 thesis grant.

“We educators must always strive for lifelong learning. We need to be constantly educated, and we must always strive to possess mastery in our fields. It is important that we do this so we can impart new learnings to our learners,” said Sec. Briones.

This program aims to make graduate education more accessible to qualified  Science and Mathematics (S&M) teachers who are financially constrained to pursue graduate studies; upgrade the teaching of S&M in the secondary level through teacher education programs; and to accelerate the development of critical mass experts in science and mathematics education.

There are 16 Capacity Building Program in Science and Mathematics Education (CBPSME) and three (3) STRAND universities all over the Philippines that will serve as study placements for the scholarship.

  1. Good day, we are hoping that the needed requirement woyld be as simple as this— a certification from the school would be considered valid requirement as we apply for the scholarship. Thank you
